5 out of 5 stars A must for families of Deaf children   January 12, 1998

I read this book as an assignment for an American Sign Language course I was taking at the local community college. I expected a dull, boring read and was very surprised. Lorraine Fletchers' account of her child's first few years is heart wrenching and (at the same time) triumphant. A must read for hearing parents of Deaf children.
