Get up close and master Spanish pronouns

As you study Spanish you may view pronouns as obstacles to your full understanding of the language. Learning pronouns can be one of the most frustrating aspects of studying Spanish grammar, but it is also one of the most important for being understood and following what others say. By adding Spanish pronouns to your range of language skills, you will open up a whole new world of communication.

With plenty of opportunities for practice, practice, practice, Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Pronouns Up Close helps you better understand the nuances of this tricky grammar element and develop your skills and confidence as a Spanish speaker with:

  • Easy-to-absorb explanatory materials, examples, and exercises
  • Authoritative guidance on the different pronoun forms and when to use them
  • A comprehensive answer key that not only gives you the correct solutions to the exercises but explains the why behind them

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Finally--someone explains Spanish pronouns!   October 9, 2008
I met the author of this book on the way home from work one night. He noticed me slogging through my Spanish textbook on the bus, trying to understand how to properly use Spanish grammar.

I just got a copy of his "pronouns" book, and I love it! Pronouns have been one of the hardest things for me to master, and now I feel confident about them. The author includes short, easy explanations, followed by lots of practice. The best part is that he includes explanations in the Answer Key, so if you get something wrong, you know why.

All learners of Spanish need this book and Eric's two others. It is the best $9 you will spend.

"Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Pronouns Up Close" starts out with the definition of pronouns. It then moves on to explaining the subject pronouns in English and Spanish, how verb forms in Spanish don't require mentioning the pronoun, and the meaning of number, i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

This book is comprised of the following sections:

1 Subject Pronouns
2 Reflexive Object Pronouns
3 Direct Object Pronouns
4 Indirect Object Pronouns
5 The uses of "se"
6 Pronouns as objects of prepostions
7 Demonstrative, possessive, and interrogative pronouns
8 Relative Pronouns
9 Indefinite Pronouns

Learning to use these pronouns correctly takes time and practice. This book provides exrecises to help its reader practice pronouns, as well as conjugating verbs. For example, it contains exercises such as:

Put the following words into a complete sentence:

Q. Tu/hablar/a tu hermana
A. Tu le hablas a tu hermana.
