Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars OK, but a small Spanish verb book does the same thing.   September 2, 2008
I uploaded iSpeak Spanish Verbs onto iTunes and my iPod Classic 80GB without any problem. It's fairly easy to use and navigate. The verbs on iSpeak are the basic and common ones. A speaker pronounces the verbs and goes through the different tenses. The pronouncing of the verbs isn't important to me since the verbs are common and I already knew how to pronounce them. If you have the full size iPod (Classic), there is a display for the spelling of the different verb tenses. (Remember to hit the center button on your iPod a couple of times to get the full display for the verb tenses.)

A big drawback of iSpeak Spanish Verbs is that it doesn't explain how the different tenses are used, e.g., moods or modes. If you understand the differences between the conditional verb and conditional perfect verb; the present subjunctive verb and past subjunctive verb; the imperfect indicative verb and past perfect indicative verb; etc., you might find this a useful learning tool.

Compared to the reference book "501 Spanish Verbs," iSpeak Spanish Verbs on an iPod is smaller to carry around if you want to review or learn Spanish verb tenses; however, the iSpeak Spanish Verbs on an iPod isn't anywhere as detailed as the book "501 Spanish Verbs." In fact, I've got a small pocket reference book on Spanish Verbs that is much more detailed and informative than iSpeak and it's the same size as my iPod. The book won't break if I drop it and the battery won't run down.

I do regret buying this product since I've got a pocket size Barron's Spanish Verbs book that has much more verbs and I can write notes or highlight the different tenses in the book. I guess I'm "old school." I like to write notes to myself in a book. You can't do that on an iPod. The book is also cheaper than an iPod in case it gets stolen or lost.

If you want to drill yourself on verb tenses, I recommend my favorite Spanish verb drill tool which is a game called "Conjumania" on the Franklin Webster Spanish-English electronic dictionary.

5 out of 5 stars An Extraordinarily Great Product   August 15, 2008
I really need to practice verbs--saying them, hearing them, seeing them. I had not been able to find a good solution until I found this product. It works very well and allows me to practice in a number of flexible ways. Thanks for such an innovative use of iPod technology. I hope someone gives you an award. I'm giving you a big 5 stars on this one.
