Gift for my new grandson April 25, 2008 My son and daughter-in-law are very excited to begin teaching sign language to their first child. Our purchase arrived in a timely manner and it was just as we expected from the information given in the ad.
Baby Sign Language February 13, 2008 This book is wonderful. It provides great reference for understanding the basics of sign language for babies.
Sign Language February 8, 2008 Wonderful pocket size beginner book. It has helped my tremendously with my granddaughter. We've been using this for months. She is now 16-months-old and uses sign language everyday to tell me what she needs. I love being about to take this along with me in her diaper bag.
not enough signs... December 18, 2007 This is a great started book. I wanted more signs so I researched dictionaries and one of the best ones was Teach Your Tot to Sign. It really doesn't do a lot of teaching but it has tons of signs that I can use with my son. Buy this one to start and then the other to continue.
Great Little Book; Quick Read October 4, 2007 This book gives a great overview and intro. to baby sign language basics.
Our daughter is now 14 months and we've started using signs when she was around 6 months old. She now signs about 40 words! Besides the practical aspects of being able to meet her needs more effectively, it is a HUGE gift to be able to get to know her better at such a young age. Because she has a vocabulary that she can use, we get to 'hear' what is on her mind (babies, butterflies, dogs, ceiling fans, etc.) on a daily basis. How cool is that?!
I recommend that everyone give it a try. Giving your baby 'words' before they are ready to speak verbally, is an amazing gift.
