Comprehensive yet nothing new October 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A complete reference for professional presentations actually for public speaking... That's why I gave it a 3 star
I thought I'd find HOW TO PERSUADE know how using skills or something ,but unfortunately I couldn't find that - I suggest removing the word "PERSUASIVE" from the book title
I read many books about how to present in a professional way so I didn't get a lot from this book - it focuses mainly on speeches
I liked mostly 1. CHAPTER 6 (Involvement & Interactivity) 2. CHAPTER 9 (Audience Management) 3. Appendix
Must-have - for your next presentation September 28, 2008 I've been involved with thousands of presentations - and found useful advice in this book...
Whether you're looking for tips on planning, writing or delivering your next presentation, Bob's action-oriented style delivers on it's core promise "Give Presentations That Pay-Off"
Throughout this easy-to-read book, you'll find specific examples of how to make your next presentation - your best!!! I was personally inspired by the guidance in "Seven Tips for Better Speeches", "Stories to Get Your Point Across" and "Engaging Your Audience"
Bottom line - I have not read a better book on this topic.
Bly's Public Speaking Book Impresses Veteran NSA Speaker September 25, 2008 I have been in front of audiences for close to thirty years, either as a stand-up comic or motivational speaker for corporations. I thought I knew it all... that is, until I read Bly's book. Concise with real techniques (that were even new to me) now any business speaker has a powerful guide to call on that will enable them to captivate any business meeting audience.
If you are in sales, want to dominate your market or exude expert status in your industry -- then this is a "must have" book for any serious business orator (me included.) Peter Fogel Member of National Speakers Association www.reinventyourselfnow.com
