Work with the deaf? This is a must@ April 18, 2008 I found the EVD Bible to be very helpful in my studies of American Sign Language and my work as a student interpreter at a local church. It will also serve as a resource as I start writing for the deaf.
Easy read English February 23, 2006 With all the brackets and side notes, I did not find it easy. I was looking for something on 5th yr reading level, using it with a student who is ESL. It doesn't look as fancy as his NIV copy so we are struggling.
You can still find this!! January 31, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We love using this Bible to memorize verses in ASL. It is easier to sign directly from the text, than trying to interpret everything in your head. My Deaf husband also uses this to compare with our regular NASB translation.
I just wanted everyone to know this book is still available from www.wbtc.com, the original translaters and publishers. It is also sold under the name "Holy Bible: Easy-to-Read Version."
The Holy Bible: English Version for the Deaf November 10, 2004 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
If you are looking for "The Holy Bible: English Version for the Deaf" be VERY careful to see which ISBN # you are ordering. I ordered the above because I have an issue and wanted one for a friend of mine. When hers came it was TOTALLY different: in two volumes with plain white covers. They call the bible by the same name but apparently they quit printing the one voume edition with the nice maroon cover about 3 years ago. Here are the ISBN # to watch for:
One volume edition with nice maroon cover, ISBN#0801043034 Two volume edition with plain, white covers, ISBN#0801065208
Buyer beware!!!!!
Where's Genesis? November 5, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Where's the rest of the Bible? This has no Table of Contents, No Genesis. The earlier version was much better! Since I've ordered this for a friend of mine (she saw mine and really liked it) now I'm STUCK with a Bible that's missing stuff!
