Great coverage and source to have throughout Grad school November 15, 2008 This book would have helped me alot in grad school. It breaks things down quite nicely. I just took the Praxis today and I found the book to be helpful. The books itself is huge but start early and read 1 chapter at a time and you will be good to go! :) Kudos to the authors!
Good Overall Review of Speech Language Pathology November 12, 2008 I got this book to help me study for the PRAXIS and my graduate comprehensive exams. While I have not have time to read every chapter in depth, I found the sections I read to be very useful. The book provides a very good overview of each topic; there is more of a general emphasis of the important concepts, rather than in-depth, thoroughly detailed review of each subject area. Compared to the other review books I considered buying, this one is easier to read, and is organized in a more logical manner, with helpful study questions (both multiple choice and case examples) and outlines for each chapter. Overall, this book is a good investment if you are studying for the Praxis and/or comprehensive exams in speech-language pathology.
A Must Have if you're taking the Praxis February 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you plan to take the praxis for speech-language pathology this book is a must have. Memorize it and you will pass the test. In retrospect I wish I had purchased this book when I began my studies and referred to it for every class. That way at the end my study of it would've been more like a recap or review. In any case the book is an excellent resource and a reference manual you will refer to for years to come as you build your practice. Worth every penny.
A must! September 6, 2005 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This book was required by my department, but I am elated that they required it. It is very helpful, in that it allows you to focus in on what will be asked on the NESPA. I use it in every one of my graduate classes and I will pass the NESPA on the first attempt because of it. The study tapes are a welcomed addition. I listen to the tapes on the way to classes and they do help in recalling the information I read. Its a must if you want to pass the test.
Good book May 16, 2005 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
not to be counted on it as a reference tool for detailed information, but it is helpful with determining what you need to focus on during undergraduate studies....
