5 out of 5 stars Excellent read before you remarry   July 24, 2008
I have found this book entertaining, educational and easy to read. I picked it up and couldn't put it down.. it is that good. It helps me understand my options as I think about a second marriage. I would have saved myself a lot of pain and financial problems had I read this book and put into practice it's advice before my first marriage.

1 out of 5 stars could be written by a first grader   January 11, 2008

Don't waste your time on this worthless book. Ask a taxi driver for more complete up to date information. Or better yet, go online. It is quite an insult. Obviously written for publicity reasons. Since it is not much more than in infomercial, you shouldn't pay for it. The information is inaccurate and misleading. This book could be harmful.

5 out of 5 stars Prenups for Lovers   December 11, 2007

Excellent book for anyone getting married or living with someone. It removes the false premise that a prenup is a battleground and instead puts in place the helpul reality that a couple benefits when each party articulates what his/her aspirations are for entering into the relationship.

4 out of 5 stars great book   March 16, 2007

My son-in-law's lawyer produced a prenup that was almost word for word the same as this book. It helps on the process and the legalese.

5 out of 5 stars A Gem More Valuable Than Your Engagement Ring   June 6, 2002

This is a gem of a book that helps you navigate financial discussions in a compassionate yet business-like manner. Arlene Dubin informs her readers WHY issues are important and shows them HOW to initiate discussions based upon common values and shared goals. After a couple finds they are on the same page, the dollars involved and technical know-how can be inserted into the dialogue.

I have practised as a Certified Financial Planner for 18 years, and send this book to clients and allied professionals. It is eminently readable, but does not dumb-down a subject that is important to anyone contemplating marriage.
