Very Helpful Dictionary February 6, 2006

I like this dictionary. It is not an French-English dictionary. It is a straight French dictionary. What I like best about it is that it includes synonyms and antonyms for almost every word, so it is not only a dictionary, but a thesaurus as well. However, it is really designed for a solid French speaker. For that reason the international pronunciation of each word is not included. They include international pronunciation only for those words that are out of the ordinary, but that's it.
All in all, if you are a solid French speaker, I think it is a very good resource. If you are someone who is relatively new to the language, I think "Le Robert & Cle International: Dictionaire du Francais" by Josette Rey-Debove is a better choice. "Le Robert & Cle" is specifically designed for those whose second language is French. It does have the international pronounciation of each word.
