3 out of 5 stars I've expected a bit more...   July 5, 2008
Well, I belive that it's a bit overcomplicated. I've got the 14th edition and it is more practical. The 17th has way to many unnecesary charts, tables, however they took out a lot of important tables, guidelines wich were important. Some chapters are reduced 50% (eg. pneumonias)......I am a bit dissapointed i was expecting more.

5 out of 5 stars A bible for internal medicine   May 30, 2008

I got a phone call from my brother from India and he asked me to check if 17th edition was available in the USA and I told him YES. He was in euphoria and asked me to purchase and send it to him :) He is working on his MD right now. So we discussed for a few minutes what this book entails and why he thought it was a such a great and the best book on internal medicine and he was pretty descriptive in pointing out differences between this and other books out there so I was pretty convinced at the end of our conversation that it is indeed the bible of internal medicine. And the best part, Amazon shipped this 12 lbs book for just $9.95 to India. Had I purchased this somewhere else and shipped it myself via USPS, I would have spent at least $50-70 on shipping alone. So I am glad that Amazon saved me few bucks there. Thanks Amazon. Keep it up.
