As English teachers, most of us have heard pitch after pitch about new systems for teaching essay writing. And...sadly many do not work or are so dull that we don't even introduce them in our classroom.

Gretchen Bernabei has given us a solution. Her understandable, unique, quirky approach to teaching the essay is not only great for students, but teachers as well! She even makes me want to write...MORE!!!

This is the answer to my essay woes. It works for any level writer--even my 12th grade AP students. Thanks Gretchen! We owe you one!!!

This book is wonderful and easy to use. The ideas really work. I started using them with my class and saw results with the first lesson. The kernel essay has made my bad writers good. This is a must for all writing teachers. If you get a chance to attend her workshop, do it. It was money and time well spent. She even emails you back when you ask questions.
