Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The farmer is a gentle, hardworking man who loves his animals and tends his fields with strong, caring hands. When a series of disasters destroys his crops, he is forced to sell some of his cherished animals to survive until the next planting. He passionately hopes he will be able to buy back his four-legged friends after the next harvest. The illustrations are richly detailed and filled with life and emotion. Children will delight in discovering the tiny details hidden in the illustrations and finding Squeakers the Mouse in each one. This is a story of hardship and loss, but it highlights growth, joy, friendship, and forgiveness.

5 out of 5 stars I highly recommend it. A great message.   July 9, 2008
This is a gorgeously illustrated book and my favorite of the Mark Ludy collection. The message is meaningfulful without being preachy. It is a great read for girls or boys of all ages, but is short enough for a three year old to sit through. My children really enjoy looking for the little mouse from page to page.

Once you read this book it one you will not soon forget. The illustrations are incredibly done. The story line tugs at your heart each time. My daughter's teachers have read this in school and I have read this for Sunday school. It comes with a very valuable lesson about generousity and forgivness. I can not say enough GREAT things about this book!
