5 out of 5 stars Darkly Delicious!   September 30, 2008
Lucien was the immortal captain of the guard on Mt. Olympus until he jealously opened Pandora's box and became possessed by the demon of Death. Thousands of years later, scarred on the inside and out he attracts the attention of Anya, Goddess of Anarchy...and Cronus Godking of the Titans.

Anya, determined to live life her way or the highway, gets what she wants. And what she wants is Death, man and demon she can't resist his scarred body and heart. And the fact that Cronus sets him the task of killing her just revs her engine more. She is Anarchy after all.

The two travel the world and explore the ruins of two lost temples of the Gods as they rise from the see. Together they fight Hunters, a Hydra, and each others personal demons - when their not fighting each other in a delectable way. Lucien is a to die for hero- pardon the pun! Anya has oodles of spunk. Aeron the Wrathful demon in the castle basement breaks free and Promiscuity is changed for eternity. A completely delightful read!

2 out of 5 stars Only the first half was good   September 24, 2008

After reading The Darkest Night I ran out and got a copy of the Darkest Kiss. The first half of the book was great and then it seemed as if the story didn't know where to go and the rest of the pages were just written to fill out the book. I'm going to start the 3rd today.

5 out of 5 stars Lucien, Keeper of Death   September 23, 2008

The Darkest Kiss is about the warrior Lucien, keeper of the demon Death. Lucien is the protective warrior of all the warriors. He is the most controlled and calmed, but this is all shot to hell when he meets Anya, Goddess of Anarchy. Anya has a curse placed upon her too like Lucien, she will be bond to the man she gives herself to forever. This curse was placed upon her by Themis, wife of Tartus, Anya's father; who thought to punish her for her father's betrayal with her mother. Anya despite being a virgin is pretty rumbuctious and promiscous.

Cronus wants Lucien to kill Anya. Anya holds the All-Key, a key given to her by her father. This key allows the owner to escape from any prison, this is how Anya escaped Tartus the prison named after her father. Lucien doesnt want to kill Anya because he starts to have deep feelings for her. Together they go on a quest to find the four artifacts that will lead to Pandora's box.

Aeron, keeper of Wrath has gone mad with bloodlust, he escapes his prison and goes after the four innocents he was ordered to kill by the gods. Reyes is on the hunt after him.

I really liked The Darkest Kiss, but I liked the Darkest Night better because of Ashlyn,I could relate with her more. I also liked that she was modest and Caring. Anya is a bit more blunt and wild. I got annoyed with her sometimes, I really liked Lucien though, it was nice that he was a warrior with flaws. The too perfect man isn't dreamy or hot.I can't wait to start the last one in Showalter's trilogy, The Darkest Pleasure.

You'll enjoy The Darkest Kiss, it was a fast adventerous read :)
