The Bader Reading and Language Inventory is a useful resource for literacy specialists and classroom teachers. This publication is valuable for in-depth diagnostic evaluation, but also has practical tools for quick screening to determine reading level.

The Test Battery section contains Word Recognition Lists and Graded Reading Passages on levels preprimer through high school.

As the Director of a large nonprofit literacy organization providing services for adults and children, I can verify that this is the most useful and comprehensive diagnostic inventory available.
