My little deja vu... December 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this book a while back and have put off reading it because of the subject matter. Then I realized that it was Ms. Anna J. and picked it up because I enjoy her work. This story was a good one, full of drama, sex, back-stabbing, and the classic crazy twists that Anna J. is known for. Unfortunately, this book was a little too reminiscent of "My Woman His Wife" and "The Aftermath".
Jaydah is one conniving, sexual being who loves women... and loves them well! I enjoyed all of the drama, drama, drama, drama, and more drama that this book has. Jaydah has some serious issues but she's so incredibly good in the bedroom that they routinely and conveniently get looked over. Midori is married to a guy who doesn't please her, cheats on her, and has more mood swings than a pregnant woman on "e"; but she stays with him because of his finances. She is sexually frustrated and Jaydah is her Dr. Phil... or rather Dr. "fill". I'll let you use your imagination as to what Jaydah fills! :-)
You'll go dizzy over how many times the characters go back and forth with each other and to the depths they will go to take revenge. As per Anna J. this book is very sexual. Mostly women on women because of the storyline but there is some man on woman sexuality as well. Anna does put it down in this novel but I did see a bit too much of Monica in Jaydah and Jaydah in Monica. If you're asking yourself who Monica is then check out Anna's previous books.

THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME READING ONE OF ANNA J BOOKS. AND I INDEED THINK THAT SHE IS A FIRECRACKER!! SEX AND MORE SEX. IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR SEXUAL BETWEEN TWO WOMAN THEN YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK. THE TWO WOMAN CHARACTERS MIDORI AND JAYDAH ARE VERY SEXY WOMAN. THEY BOTH KNOW WHAT THEY WANT BUT NEED TO HAVE MORE. EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD MEN IN THERE LIVES, I GUESS THOSE MEN WASN'T ENOUGH FOR THEM. YOU CAN'T PUT THE BOOK DOWN FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. MADE YOU THINK CAN I HAVE MY CAKE AND EAT IT TOO....OH MY BAD!! THAT IS WHAT THESE TWO WOMAN WAS DOING! GOOD JOB ANNA J. CAN'T WAIT TO READ ANOTHER OF YOUR BOOKS.

Secret? October 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Anna J is back on the scene with "My Little Secret" and indeed there is no secret that her erotica scenes are on point as usual.
Midori Hunter truly is a woman that likes to have her cake and eat it too. Torn between the best of both worlds, she is destined to face serious consequences. Midori has a handsome, professional, and cheating husband who can no longer satisfy her sexually. Longing for his love and sex game to run as deep as his pockets she falls into the arms of the successful and beautiful author, Jaydah B. Jaydah opens up her doors and arms to Midori and most importantly her heart only to gain confusion, heartache and time behind bars for a few days. Will Midori choose between what her body yearns or what her heart feels?
As always Anna J novels are packed with steamy and very descriptive erotica scenes. But for some reason this novel lacked depth unlike her others. For starters there were no secrets and if they were they were quite obvious in the beginning chapter. Second, I did not connect with the characters on an emotional level which allowed for me to not care about the decisions they made. Overall, I am still a fan of Anna J work, looking forward to the sequel since the ending left me wondering.

aiight October 12, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
It was aiight I kinda felt at times Anna J was talking about herself, and Monica just pops up in damn near every book. Can the next story just be straight boy-on-girl action and leave the lesbo acts out for a minute?
