I know what you're thinking: "oh no, not another book about fertility". Let me tell you why I like this book and why I think it's important.
You don't know this, but my husband and I had a lot of trouble getting pregnant; then I lost some weight and had a summer off work and stopped thinking about it and surprise! I found myself pregnant. Assuming it was a fluke we really didn't think that we would get pregnant a 2nd time, yet 5 months later we were pregnant again. I was looking for some explanation of why all of a sudden my body started *working the right way* when I met Laurie Tarkan, the co-author of this book.
After reading Perfect Hormone Balance for Fertility I now understand a lot more of what my body was doing when I conceived and why I felt so much healthier. I feel like this is a book I can recommend to any couple experiencing infertility. What's great about the book is that it's packed with science, but written in a way that is not overly technical. I can't stand books that are either so technical I feel like I need a dictionary and an encyclopedia on hand just to understand one thing; or the contrast, when I'm given information on a level that is appropriate for an elementary school child--this book strikes the perfect balance (no pun intended!). This is one of those books you can pick up and look at if you have 5 minutes or if you have 3 hours--and it's laid out in a user friendly way as well.
Perfect Hormone Balance for Fertility is up on the latest research and really embraces so many current trends: eating organic, eating healthy, reducing exposure to toxins/bio-mutagens, reducing stress, increasing activity, and positive sleep habits. The book has received rave reviews from a number of leading authors and researches, including Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Dr. Robert Greene and Laurie Tarkan's book has a number of success stories that will empower couples all over the country. The bottom line is Perfect Hormone Balance for Fertility empowers couples to take an active role in their fertility with concrete steps and furthermore, encourages couples not to blindly jump into one-size-fits-all fertility treatments.
