Product Description 'A life-changing book for women' - Erica Jong. Is having 'somebody to love' the most important thing in your life? Do you constantly believe that with 'the right man' you would no longer feel depressed or lonely? Are you bored with 'nice guys' who are open, honest and dependable? If being in love means being in pain, this book was written for you. Therapist Robin Norwood describes loving too much as a pattern of thoughts and behaviour, which certain women develop as a response to problems from childhood. Many women find themselves repeatedly drawn into unhappy and destructive relationships with men. They then struggle to make these doomed relationships work. This bestselling book takes a hard look at how powerfully addictive these unhealthy relationships are - but also gives a very specific programme for recovery from the disease of loving too much.

very helpful product October 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book helped me through a very turbulent time. It addresses many issues that are simply common sense, but seeing them in print is very justifying. I have sought help for some issues and am healing nicely. Thank you for the opportunity to get the product quickly and at a reduced rate. God Bless!
This should be required reading October 21, 2008 If every woman from just 1 generation read this book and followed the guidelines we would eleminate co-dependance. We need to read this book and teach our daughters proper respect for themselves. I wish I found this book when it first came out, I wouldn't have experienced all the hurt and anguish and brokenheartedness. It is explained how we grow up in a home that doesn't meet all our emotional needs so as adults we search for that in a romantic partner. We think our love will magically change our hurt little puppy honey with his sob story and by fixing their story we are fixing ours. The problem is it never works because he won't let us. We are so afraid of love that we seek out partners who will keep us at arms length then we blame the partner or ourselves for the problems in our relationships. Robin gives 15 reasons why we are drawn to distant partners and 10 coping strategies. Read the book. Reread the book. Follow the guidelines and heal yourself.Stop Being the String Along: A Relationship Guide to Being THE ONE
Great Book if You Have a History of Bad Relationships October 21, 2008 Great for anyone who always ends up feeling, when relationships end, like she has given too much, including perhaps her own identity, and ended up with nothing. I highly recommend it!
One of the best self help books out there September 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I stumbled across the book by accident at the library and boy am I glad I did.
This book was written at least 20 years ago and to bad I did not read it then. I literaly saw myself on every page of this book. It was so helpful in helping me see why I chose the men that I do and how to heal myself so I don't make these same mistakes again
Every single woman out there needs to read this book. I can't say enough good things about it.
