Product Description
The "need to know" is growing every day for professionals involved in the legal aspects of hearing and hearing loss. Medical-Legal Evaluation of Hearing Loss, 2E provides the latest information and the foundation for future decisions by physicians and audiologists providing assessment and court testimony, as well as by other professionals evaluating and interpreting medical reports and legal testimony. The second edition has over 150 new references and new discussions on topics such as: otoacoustic emissions, genetics of hearing loss, developments in hearing protection, effects of race and scioeconomic status on hearing, susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss, acoustic trauma from airbags and audiological testing, and fetal noise exposure. From the physics and physiology of hearing to relevant hearing standards to courtroom scenarios, this resource is comprehensive and pragmatic.

This is an excellent book on NIHL. It presents in a clear and easy to understand the essentials for Forensic Audiology.I found the method of allocation especially helpful. The case studies are excellent and well presented. Of the several books on this subject in my library this one ranks as number one.
