GREAT BOOK! September 15, 2008 The book was really great! I loved part I, & I loved part II. It left me really wanting to read part III, which I will be purchasing from Amazon.
true to what game? August 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What i want to know is what playa's wifey do you know of that's not up on her game enough to at least know her man's enemies? where was the first Gena that we got to know in part one? i thought she was going to be out on a revenge tip but she just existed with no purpose. how could she fall for another man less than a year after the supposed love of her life was gunned down? i understand she was mourning his death but when she found the money she still had no purpose. what woman like for a man to drill her like he's raping her? i don't understand what her appeal to Jerrell was. i didn't understand a lot about this book.
jerrell was a sick fool that didn't get it the way he should've if you ask me. what was his purpose in plotting to kill gena when he could've just robbed her or stayed with her and spent the money which would've been a lot easier. none of it made sense.
i understand rashun was a snitch and no one likes a snitch but for Quadir to be his so called friend but gun him down the way he did was terrible. rashun could've done a number of things to make it seem as if he was on the cops side. the entire book didn't have to happen to be honest. i'm frustrated with how the story line turned out.
i'm reading three now so far i'm dealing but it's not true to the game 1. moral to this story is never write a sequel and in the case sequels if your characters have nothing to say. wait until they're ready to get the best story possible. i love part ONE and i just feel this author could've done a lot better.
ehh... August 23, 2008 I finished True to the Game and couldnt wait for the second one to come in the mail, although in my opinion it wasnt as good as the first one it still was good...there were parts that had me not wanting to put the book down like the first one but I like the first one better.....waiting for True to the game III to come in the mail now....
Dont bother reading it August 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After the few pages of the book. I put it down. It was a waste of money
Prequel was very good but this sucks! July 30, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed the gritty prequel. This picks up later in main characters life after she finds money. The plot was boring and predictable and it was not believable. Just another "urban" novel.
