Works just like you expect it to September 7, 2008 We have some iGo products already. (They work well for travel, the minimize the size of the adapters you have to carry.)
We purchased this with the Kindle. And it works just like you would expect it to.
Still waiting for a reply! September 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I emailed this company, confessed my ignorance regarding my order, and asked a pretty simple question: "OK, I'm an idiot. I have a Kindle, and I bought the iGo power tip for it (as suggested by Amazon), but didn't quite understand that I also needed an adapter. Now that brings me to my question: If I typically use the wall charger that came with the Kindle, what is the advantage of the iGo power tip? Guess I thought I could 'charge' the tip and then use it to charge the Kindle when I was away from a power outlet." Nothing I could find in the description told me an adapter was required, nor gave me any information as to the purpose of this item. Mybad for not doing more investigation prior to placing the order. The Customer Service Manager who fielded my email couldn't answer my question, said she'd forward my question ("I will check with sales"), and 10 days later I still have not received a reply, although I've twice reminded them I am waiting.
Wayne Getchel August 29, 2008 Bought this as a spare in case I misplaced/lost the original tip. It works great just as advertised
iGo A00 power tip for kindle August 26, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pros: Works great, does what I wanted it to do. 4 AA batteries will recharge or run your Kindle anywhere. It's much more convenient to carry than the AC charger, and with the extra tips available, it will charge other components. Cons: My rechargable NiMH batteries (Duracell & Powerex) are a little too big (diameter), the cover won't fit right, but they work. Alkaline batteries fit fine.
