4 out of 5 stars Adjustable ankle/wrist weights   December 2, 2008
Recommended by my physical therapist to strengthen my thigh muscles. They're easy to put on and take off. Otherwise - they're weights - what can you say?

4 out of 5 stars Not the most comfortable for me.   December 1, 2008
These were fairly cheap for 5 lb. (each) weights, but I don't find them too comfortable. I have thin bony legs and when I put these weights on, they hit a pressure point at the top of my foot, which can be very painful. I'm sure this could be remedied by wearing them over thick pants (I don't prefer to do that) or some other method of padding. People of other builds will no doubt have different experiences They're quite bulky - I don't know if you can get 5lb weights that aren't - so I can't wear them surreptitiously under my pants when I go out (like I can with my 2.5lb weights).

Another annoyance is the dual velcro straps - which are very tough and won't come undone but are actually hard to to pull off, and often get tangled up in each other.

I just wish these were more comfortable to wear. When I'm in the mood I will put them on, but more often I wear my 2.5 pounders instead, even though those feel positively light in comparison.

I have never tried using them as wrist weights.

When it comes down to it these are for strengthening your legs, not making your legs comfortable. I think they would be nicer for people with thicker legs, and the velcro straps are just an annoyance, not a reason to avoid buying. They aren't luxury and there may be better 5lb ankle weights out there, but these are selling for a decent price.

5 out of 5 stars Very Satisfied w/ Ankle Weights !!   November 27, 2008
I'm very happy with both the ankle weights & service/shipping from Amazon. Product arrived in just a couple days with Free Shipping. Weights are adjustable as advertised by removing weights. My only regret is they are black & it is difficult to put my name on them to leave them at the gym.

5 out of 5 stars adjustable ankle weights rule   November 23, 2008
i bought these because the ankle weights i own have a resistance band stuck between them which doesn't work well for kickbacks and leg lifts on the ground. the adjustable component on these is a plus but like all ankle weights, they do slip a little. I am not a huge fan of velcro, but it works in this case. Recommend for home use only.

4 out of 5 stars Great, durable weights, but they are huuuuuge!   November 7, 2008
I wanted a set of adjustable weights for physical therapy and strength training for my back, core, and legs. I am a lean female, and I knew that 10lb weight each on my legs were going to be over the top, but I figured it still would come in handy for leg lifts and what not, and for just walking around I can decrease the weights to just 2~6 lbs each leg.

I received the item today, and I must say, while I am impressed how sturdy they look, with adjustable velcro all the way around, it is HUGE. I look like I have gorilla feet, even when I remove 3 weights off from each. They look durable and long lasting, but the velcro is almost too strong to be taking it on and off frequently... in fact my thumb's sore from tring to rip the velcro off.

I think my husband (160~170 lbs martial arts buff) would be happy to make better use of this, but I might need to order something a bit smaller and formfitting for everyday use.
