5 out of 5 stars An absolute must-have for parents and professionals!   April 1, 2008
Dr. Curtis' book, "Understanding Your Child's Puzzling Behavior," is an extremely valuable and empowering tool for both parents and professionals. The book is packed with useful information and presented in a clear and succinct format. Many other books are written using jargon that perplexes even professionals in the field. It will eliminate any confusion that one has regarding where to go, what to say, and whom to talk to when concerned about a child's behaviors whether they are social, emotional, behavioral, or academic. The resources provided are EXCELLENT!

A terrific guide for parents who are willing to participate in discovering why their child behaves as he or she does. Dr. Curtis encourages the reader to take an active role in finding solutions for his or her child, but doesn't stop there. He equips with secrets of the trade in an easy-to-understand manner and provides user-friendly procedures designed to bring you to an understanding of your child. Every professional who treats children with atypical behavior will wish that the child's parents had first read Dr. Curtis' book.

EXCELLENT resource book for parents. Very well written and seems well researched. Its explanations are very thorough, detailed and understandable for parents and concerned others. It seems unique in what it offers. I hope this tremendous new resource will be made available in schools and libraries as well as bookstores.

I am a certified special education teacher and the parent of 2 children with Dyslexia. I wish "Understanding Your Child's Puzzling Behavior" had been available to me in 1980 when my oldest child was diagnosed with Dyslexia. Dr. Curtis' book is excellent and a valuable resource for parents and educators. (Diana Potter)

5 out of 5 stars Expert, practical resource for parents whose children need help.   March 16, 2008
Understanding Your Child's Puzzling Behavior is a marvelous resource for parents struggling to determine how to support and nurture their child. Dr. Steven Curtis has drawn upon his numerous years of clinical experience to produce a concise yet comprehensive examination of puzzling child behavior, and ways of both identifying the issues and working to resolve them. The book is clearly written in an engaging style and takes a realistic approach throughout. Dr. Curtis' excellent worksheets will prove invaluable to parents and other caregivers, as will his practical and helpful explanations of numerous care professionals' roles and qualifications. A lengthy categorized resource section, helpful glossary, and straightforward index complete what should become a standard practical guide and tool for parents of children with puzzling behavior.
