Babies can talk!! January 21, 2008 This is a great tool for parents to have. With this tool you will find that babies can talk!! The resources in the kit are many and are very helpful. The testimonies on the video alone are eye-opening. I love the wipe-off chart that can be shared with others who have interaction with your baby. With the chart, the signs your baby will use can be understood by all. You and your child will enjoy this great product. Thank you Mr. Joseph Garcia for proving that babies can communicate their needs effectively!
Good Information, but very outdated January 14, 2008 The book and video are helpful in getting started, but the video is so old and outdated, it's almost unbearable to watch. But, the information and signs are solid. Would have liked a little more information about the process of introducing signs. He focuses on the "eat", "more" and "milk" so much, but doesn't really show you how to use some of the others. It is interesting to see the kids communicate though.
Great set! January 10, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am really glad I purchased this set for the following reasons:
EASY READ -I read the entire book during one of my son's naps VERY HELPFUL -what, when, and how to teach your baby ASL OFFERED SOME INSIGHT - taught me things about language development that I never knew and found very helpful when deciding how to intoduce signs to my child (and even about how to interact verbally) GREAT DVD - anwered any additional questions I had after reading the book (for example, how do I make the sign for diaper change, etc.) The instructional pictures are fantastic, but I think that there are always a few signs that are better shown in action. It was also great to see babies doing the signs that I am now teaching my child. Makes you realize how great signing with your child can be! "REAL" SIGNS - I ended up using this set over "Baby Signs" because it follows ASL. I figure, if you are going to introduce a new language to your child it might as well be universal. I was also happy that unlike Baby Signs, this was accompanied by an instructional DVD.
Listen to all the great reviews like I did! Buy the set! You will be happy you did!
Must Have for Parents January 1, 2008 This is a must have for parents. At six months, my son is able to sign to me when he wants milk. He can recognize many other signs when I sign them.
The video has a section that will allow you to jump to any of the words so you can see how they are signed. This is a great supplement to the printed signs.
This is a great way to increase the communication with your loved one that cannot speak words yet.
Easy to understand / user-friendly October 11, 2007 This set has many forms of materials included - the quick-view card helpful for babysitters and grandparents, the DVD to fully explain the theory behind sign-language as well as properly demonstrate the motions of sign-language, and a book which covers many of the same points on theory of sign-language as the DVD. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and after only 1 showing we both picked up many signs to be able to use with our little one.
